Ocean Beach Health Finalizes Plans for Express Care and Ilwaco Clinic Expansion
Community’s Top Priority Moves Forward with Bond-Funded Investment
ILWACO, Wash. — Ocean Beach Health (OBH) has finalized plans for its highly anticipated Express Care and Ilwaco Clinic Expansion, marking a major step forward in strengthening access to care for South Pacific County. This project reflects the community’s top priority identified during the capital bond process and reinforces OBH’s commitment to keeping care close to home through trusted, community-owned healthcare.
Express Care was the most requested service by residents, and the finalized design expands OBH’s capacity to meet that need. The project adds 4,500 square feet of new space, including five exam rooms, one procedure room, enhanced capacity, and improved patient flow to deliver quick, accessible care for non-emergency conditions.
“Express Care will make a real difference for community members who need immediate care without traveling long distances,” said Nancy Gorshe, chair, OBH Board of Commissioners.
The expansion is funded by the Capital Facilities Bond approved by South Pacific County voters—an investment made possible through the region’s strong commitment to local, community-owned healthcare. It is one of four major bond-supported improvements, including the Operating Suite Refresh and two completed projects: the laboratory expansion and Acute Care’s new nurses’ station and pharmacy. The newly purchased Long Beach Women’s and Children’s Clinic adds a fifth major investment—separately funded—that further strengthens OBH’s community-driven health network.
With plans complete, OBH is now preparing for construction. A groundbreaking date will be announced once scheduling is finalized; completion is anticipated by the end of 2026.
