Letter from our CEO – Merry-Ann Keane
Dear Friends and Neighbors,
As we present the 2024 Community Benefit Report, we do so at a time of transition and growth. It is our hope that this report reassures you that Ocean Beach Hospital and Medical Clinics remains strong, resilient, and unwavering in our commitment to providing compassionate, patient-focused care for our community.
Like many healthcare organizations, we are navigating an evolving landscape, with changes in policies and programs that may shape the way we deliver care. While change can bring challenges, it also presents opportunities for innovation and improvement. I have every confidence that the dedicated staff at Ocean Beach Hospital will continue to rise to the occasion—just as they always have. We remain proactive in adapting to shifts in healthcare policy, ensuring that we continue to provide excellent, accessible care to all who rely on us.
Since stepping into the role of CEO in September 2024, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside an incredible team of healthcare professionals who consistently demonstrate compassion, dedication, and skill in caring for our community. I also want to acknowledge the exceptional work happening behind the scenes, from maintaining our facilities to expanding services that directly benefit you, our patients.
In 2024, we also celebrated the 90th anniversary of Ocean Beach Hospital. This milestone year saw us make significant strides forward: we implemented efficiencies that enhanced patient care, completed a new Community Health Needs Assessment, and added a Risk and Compliance Manager to better understand and respond to patient feedback. In collaboration with our Board, we also developed a comprehensive Strategic Plan to guide future improvements and ensure long-term growth, including key bond-funded projects that will benefit our entire community.
As we look ahead to our centennial, I want to express my deepest gratitude for your ongoing support and trust in the services we provide. Together, we will continue to build a healthier future for South Pacific County.
