Ocean Beach Health Foundation Awards Scholarships to Five Local Graduating Seniors Pursuing Healthcare Careers
ILWACO, Wash. – The Ocean Beach Health Foundation is proud to announce it is awarding educational scholarships to five graduating high school seniors from Ilwaco and Naselle who are planning to pursue careers in healthcare-related fields.
Following a competitive application and review process, the Foundation’s Scholarship Committee selected the following 2025 recipients:
From Ilwaco High School:
- Blake Bell – $2,000 scholarship; planning to study nursing at the University of Washington
- Sarah Limbocker – $2,000 scholarship; accepted into the pre-med program at the University of Colorado Denver
- Alexandra Avelar – $1,000 scholarship; enrolling at Grays Harbor College to become an ultrasound technician
- Chase Steven Vasquez – $1,000 scholarship; attending Clatsop Community College with plans to become a Certified Medical Assistant
From Naselle-Grays River Valley High School:
- Evelyn Normand – $1,000 scholarship; beginning studies at Clatsop Community College with the goal of becoming a nurse
“We had an amazing group of applicants this year,” said Eleanor Ramage, Chair of the OBHF Scholarship Committee. “Thanks to our generous donors, the Foundation board made the decision to double the scholarship funds available.”
The increase was approved at the Foundation’s May board meeting.
Ocean Beach Health Foundation’s high school scholarships are awarded annually to graduating seniors based on academic performance, involvement in school and community activities, and demonstrated financial need.
Recipients have up to three years to claim their awards, which are paid directly to qualified educational institutions. Applications are submitted through school guidance counselors and reviewed by the OBHF Scholarship Committee.

The Ocean Beach Health Foundation is committed to improving health care for the people of South Pacific County. It fulfills this mission by managing charitable contributions, supporting specific projects, and promoting community health education. To date, the Foundation has raised over $1.1 million in support of Ocean Beach Health.
