Mission:
The mission of Patient Family Advisory Council (PFAC) at Ocean Beach Hospital and Medical Clinics is to optimize the delivery of care to its local community by promoting transparency, open communication, diversity, and inclusion.
Purpose:
The purpose of the Patient Family Advisory Council (PFAC) is to partner with the local community and to serve as a platform for patients and families to address potential disparities and barriers that exist across many different aspects of culture (e.g. ethnicity/race, language, religion, sexual orientation, gender roles, socioeconomic status, and age). It is the goal of PFAC to ensure that the community has the opportunity to share their perspectives and experiences while providing input on issues that impact their health and care and provide ongoing communication to both hospital and community partners.
The Ocean Beach Hospital and Medical Clinics Patient Family Advisory Council (PFAC) will act as an advisory resource to the administration and staff of Ocean Beach Hospital and Medical Clinics.

Join the PFAC
Ocean Beach Health is currently seeking four to six community members to join the PFAC, including:
- Former patients (age 18+)
- Volunteers (age 18+)
- Indigenous community members (age 18+)
- Former patients (age 65+)
- Young parents from the community
Council members will help strengthen the relationship between Ocean Beach Health and the community by identifying concerns, sharing feedback, and assisting in the development of patient-centered initiatives. Meetings will be held every other month from late June onwards at Ocean Beach Health facilities.
